History of Dublin Community Senior Center
The grand opening of the Dublin Community Center took place on May 17th, 1947. At the time, members of the Dublin School Parent Teachers Association and the school board felt the youth of the area needed recreational and social activities within the area. A general public meeting was held and a constitution was adopted the name of the Dublin Community Center was chosen and officers were elected. Membership was open to anyone who was interested in bettering the community through wholesome recreation and education (Pontiac Daily Press, 1947).
Over the years, the Dublin center has grown and evolved into the wonderful senior center we know and love today, offering lots of on-going programming and events for our 50+ community throughout the year.
