2024 Hydrant Painting

The hydrant painting crew is out painting again this summer. Hydrants are operated and leak tested while prepping for paint. Work orders are created for any problems found using the CityWorks GIS system which get sent directly to the inbox of the water system operators. Most repairs are completed within a day or two. Many are knocked out same day! The CityWorks GIS system allows us to assign and track maintenance on individual assets in the system like hydrants. So not only do we know which ones need to be painted, we know the maintenance history of each one.

Both of our crew members are full time college students working with us through the summer. They are out in the sun all day having a blast while they work. Give 'em a wave if you spot them in your area!
