The Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) is the Federal law that provides access to public records, except for those protected from disclosure under the Act.

In accordance with the Michigan Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), the White Lake Township Police Department provides copies of its public records. Records which are exempt from disclosure by state or federal law will not be provided.

Monday-Friday 7:00am-5:30pm (Closed on all major holidays)
*Please arrive no later than 5:15pm for record processing

Please Note

The Department has five business days to respond when the request is submitted in person, through mail, fax or submitted electronically (not counting the day the request is received).

If necessary, the Department may issue a ten-day extension, which allows ten additional business days to search for the requested information.

Charges may include the hourly wage, or a portion thereof, of the lowest paid employee capable of performing the search, the costs of copying and retrieval of offsite records.

If research and copying costs exceed $50, a good faith deposit of no more than 50% of the final cost may be required.
