2024 Youth Fire Academy

This academy is for students currently enrolled in 7th or 8th grade.

The Youth Fire Academy is a week long program put on by White Lake Township Firefighters with the dual effort of expanding knowledge of what the current fire service is, as well as providing an exciting and beneficial experience for the local youths. Each cadet will be provided with hands on experience with many of the tools, skills, and equipment utilized by the fire service. The goal is for the cadets to walk away from the program with at least a fun and informative memory, and at most a desire to pursue a career as a Firefighter.

Each cadet will end this week with new, useful knowledge. Some souvenirs, as well as a CPR certification.

Some of the experiences the cadets will see include, but are not limited to:

• Teamwork / Leadership
• Physical Fitness
• Critical Thinking
• Fire Suppression Tactics / Fire Ground Operations
• Vehicle Extrication (On real vehicles)
• Medical First aid / CPR
• Ladder work
• Victim Removal

***To provide the best experience we are limiting the academy size to 20 cadets.  This assures a safe and effective learning course by maintaining an appropriate instructor to cadet ratio.***
